My Minimalist Wash-Day Routine

Hi guys! Today I'm getting into exactly how I take care of my hair.

For context, I have type 2B hair. The individual strands are thin to medium but I have lots of it. I can't use heavy conditioners or products cause they weight my hair down and take away my waves! If your hair is a different texture, you will likely need different care.
Now, let's get into it!

1. In the shower

Wash with the Coconut Turmeric Native shampoo. It's a moisturizing shampoo, and I double wash with this only on my scalp. I don't scrub the length or ends since they can get dry. Once per week I use the clarifying shampoo by Odele instead. I don’t use a conditioner because I haven't found one that doesn't completely weigh my hair down. If you have any suggestions, let me know at the bottom of this post!

2. Post-Shower

Here's where I add my moisture in.
  1. Apply the Odele air dry styler, it's light and moisturizing, to towel dried hair. I leave it for moment to let it absorb then detangle my hair with a wide tooth comb.
  2. Add some hair clay to the short bits at the front to give them volume and the ends slightly spikey.
  3. If I'm wearing my hair down and really wanna emphasize my wave pattern, I’ll diffuse with my hair dryer. I often skip this step and let it air dry since I have to wear my hair up for work anyway.
  4. Add the Mielle rosemary oil to my long ends. It smells nice and locks in the moisture I added in step 1. Nothing particularly special about it.
And that's it! That's my minimalist hair wash routine.
Talk to y'all soon!
